Goal: Ensure that Los Angeles schools remain safe spaces, free from immigration enforcement, so that every child can access education without fear.
Recent reports of increased immigration raids have caused deep concern among families, students, and educators in Los Angeles. Volunteers and staff have already taken steps to protect children, but we need systemic action to guarantee that schools are sanctuaries for all students. No child should have to worry about being separated from their family or targeted while pursuing their education. We call on local officials and school leaders to take immediate, concrete steps to safeguard our schools from any immigration enforcement activity.
