End the Tariff War: Stand with Workers, Not Billionaires

The imposition of the highest US tariffs since the 1930s is a disastrous policy that harms workers, small businesses, and consumers. Tariffs are not paid by foreign governments—they are a tax on imported goods, passed on as higher prices for everyday Americans. Already, families are paying more for essential goods, and small businesses face devastating costs that threaten jobs and local economies.

These tariffs are being used to fund tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy and corporations, while workers bear the brunt through job losses, wage cuts, and worsening conditions. History shows us that such protectionist measures can trigger economic crises, as seen in the Great Depression. Today, the same logic threatens to deepen the global economic crisis and fuel international conflict.

The Trump administration’s economic nationalism seeks to divide workers and pit nations against each other, all for the benefit of a tiny elite. We must reject this agenda and unite across borders to demand economic policies that serve the many, not the few.

We call on Congress and the President to repeal these tariffs, support global cooperation, and implement policies that protect jobs, raise wages, and ensure economic security for all.
