Target: President Donald Trump and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio
Goal: We call on President Trump and the US government to ensure that any negotiations regarding Ukraine's fate are transparent, inclusive of Ukrainian leadership, and uphold international law and human rights.
The planned summit between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska comes at a time when Russia has escalated its military aggression in Ukraine, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths and ongoing displacement of civilians. Despite promises to involve Ukraine in any decisions, President Trump has excluded Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from the initial talks, raising fears of a settlement imposed on Kyiv without its consent.
History shows that secretive, unilateral deals rarely result in lasting peace or justice. The Ukrainian people deserve agency in determining their own future, and global security depends on upholding international norms, not rewarding invasions with diplomatic concessions. We urge the US government to center Ukrainian voices, guarantee transparency in negotiations, and reject any agreement that legitimizes territorial conquest or undermines Ukraine’s sovereignty.
We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and demand that the United States act in accordance with its stated commitment to democracy, human rights, and international law.
