Demand Immediate Action to Protect Civilians in Ukraine from Ongoing Attacks

Target: United Nations Security Council, European Union, U.S. Congress, and relevant international human rights organizations

Goal: We call on world leaders and international bodies to take decisive steps to protect civilians in Ukraine, provide humanitarian aid, and pursue accountability for attacks on residential areas.

Recent drone and missile attacks on residential areas in Kharkiv and Odesa have resulted in the tragic loss of civilian lives, including children, and widespread destruction. The international community must act urgently to protect Ukrainian civilians and hold aggressors accountable.

In the early hours of Monday, a Russian drone attack on a five-storey apartment block in Kharkiv killed five people, including a young child, and wounded at least 18 others. Hours earlier, a ballistic missile strike injured 11 more. These attacks have reduced homes to rubble and left families shattered, while similar strikes in Odesa have targeted critical infrastructure.

As the war continues, civilians are bearing the brunt of violence, facing acute shock, injury, and loss. The deliberate targeting of residential buildings and essential facilities constitutes a grave violation of international humanitarian law.

We urge global leaders and institutions to act now: protect Ukrainian civilians, increase humanitarian support, and hold those responsible for these attacks accountable. The world cannot remain silent in the face of such suffering.
