Goal: Urge world leaders and international organizations to support peaceful dialogue and respect the right of the people of Taiwan to determine their own future.
China's government has reiterated its claim over Taiwan, calling the issue an 'internal affair' and refusing to rule out the use of force for reunification. Meanwhile, Taiwan's democratically elected government and its people continue to resist these claims and advocate for their own voice in determining their future.
The international community must not ignore the will of the Taiwanese people, nor the risks posed by escalating military threats. We call on world leaders to support peaceful solutions, reject the use of force, and defend the principles of democracy and self-determination in the region.
We demand that all parties respect Taiwan's right to self-governance and work towards a peaceful, diplomatic resolution that centers the voices and rights of those most affected: the people of Taiwan.
