Demand Transparent and Just Diplomacy: No Deals Over Ukraine Without Ukrainian Voices

Goal: Ensure that all diplomatic negotiations regarding Ukraine’s future are transparent, inclusive, and do not force territorial concessions or legitimize aggression.

The recent Alaska summit between the US and Russia has left Ukrainians and global citizens deeply concerned about the lack of progress toward peace and the risk of backroom deals that could undermine Ukraine’s sovereignty. We call for transparent, inclusive negotiations that center Ukrainian voices and reject any territorial concessions made without the full consent of the Ukrainian people.

The Alaska summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin failed to deliver concrete results for Ukraine. Instead, it provided a platform for Russia to legitimize its ongoing aggression and for the US to engage in performative diplomacy, while Ukrainian voices were sidelined. Reports suggest that the summit was used by Russia to signal an end to its international isolation, and there are growing fears that Ukraine will be pressured into territorial concessions in exchange for vague security guarantees.

This approach is unacceptable. Any negotiations that concern Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and future must include Ukraine as an equal partner and must be fully transparent to the public. Secret deals and photo-ops with war criminals only embolden further aggression and undermine international law.

We stand with the people of Ukraine and demand that the US government commit to a diplomatic process that respects Ukraine’s sovereignty, centers Ukrainian voices, and rejects any legitimization of territorial conquest. The world is watching, and history will remember those who choose justice over complicity.
