Target: President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, President Ursula von der Leyen, President Emmanuel Macron, and all leaders engaged in Ukraine peace negotiations
Goal: We call on US, European, and international leaders to ensure any peace agreement with Russia provides Ukraine with real, enforceable security guarantees and upholds its full territorial integrity, without forcing Ukraine to cede any land.
The recent Alaska summit between US and Russian officials, attended by Trump envoy Steve Witkoff, has introduced the possibility of 'Article 5-like' security guarantees for Ukraine. While this could represent progress, there are alarming signals that Ukraine may be pressured to accept territorial concessions in Donetsk and Luhansk as part of any deal. President Zelenskyy has made it clear that Ukraine’s constitution forbids surrendering territory, and the Ukrainian people have paid a heavy price defending their sovereignty.
We are deeply concerned that so-called 'security guarantees' may be used as a bargaining chip to force Ukraine into an unjust compromise. Any peace agreement must be based on international law, respect for Ukraine’s borders, and the principle of self-determination. The world must not reward aggression or set a precedent that allows powerful states to redraw borders by force.
We urge all negotiating parties to reject any peace deal that undermines Ukraine’s territorial integrity or leaves its security ambiguous. Real peace requires justice, accountability, and the protection of human rights—not deals made at the expense of those most affected by war.
