Defend Ukraine’s Sovereignty: Reject Any Plan That Rewards Russian Aggression

The recent remarks by President Trump, suggesting that Ukraine should give up on reclaiming Crimea and abandon its aspirations to join NATO, set a dangerous precedent. Such a stance not only rewards Russian aggression, but also jeopardizes the principles of international law and the security of all nations in the region.

European leaders have reaffirmed their support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and rejected land swap plans that would legitimize Russia’s illegal occupation. The United States must stand with its allies and uphold the right of the Ukrainian people to determine their own future, free from coercion or external pressure.

We call on President Trump and all leaders meeting in Washington to:

• Reject any peace settlement that involves Ukraine ceding territory or limiting its sovereignty.
• Support Ukraine’s right to pursue membership in NATO or any other alliance of its choosing.
• Increase sanctions on Russia until it fully withdraws from occupied Ukrainian territories, including Crimea.
• Provide robust security guarantees to Ukraine in coordination with European partners.
• Engage Ukrainian civil society and leadership in all negotiations concerning their country’s future.

Peace cannot be achieved by capitulating to aggression. Stand with Ukraine for justice, democracy, and international law.
