Demand a Just and Lasting Peace for Ukraine—No Forced Concessions

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has resulted in immense suffering and loss of life. Recent reports indicate that some world leaders, including US President Donald Trump, are pressuring Ukraine to accept a swift peace deal that would require giving up claims to occupied territories and abandoning aspirations to join NATO. Such proposals echo Moscow’s demands and risk legitimizing aggression by rewarding territorial conquest.

We recognize the importance of ending the war and saving lives, but peace cannot come at the expense of justice, democracy, and the fundamental rights of the Ukrainian people. Any settlement that forces Ukraine to cede territory under duress or excludes its full participation in negotiations is unacceptable. Security guarantees must be practical, enforceable, and developed with Ukraine’s consent and European involvement—not imposed by outside powers.

We urge all leaders at the Washington talks to:

• Reject any peace agreement that requires Ukraine to surrender territory or compromise its sovereignty.
• Ensure Ukraine is fully represented and empowered in all negotiations regarding its future.
• Commit to strong, verifiable security guarantees for Ukraine, including military and economic assistance.
• Hold Russia accountable for its actions, and oppose any arrangement that rewards military aggression.
• Support Ukraine’s right to determine its own alliances, including potential NATO membership.

Lasting peace in Europe depends on justice, accountability, and respect for international law. Stand with Ukraine for a just and democratic future.
