Target: Current and Former Public Officials, including James Comey
Goal: We call on current and former public officials to model respectful, inclusive communication and to refrain from divisive rhetoric that alienates or dehumanizes others based on their political beliefs.
In a recent video posted online, former FBI Director James Comey publicly praised pop star Taylor Swift while simultaneously criticizing and belittling those who hold different political beliefs. While everyone has the right to express their opinions, public figures have a special responsibility to promote unity and respectful dialogue, rather than deepening divisions through personal attacks or dismissive language.
