Demand Real Security and Justice for Ukraine—No Peace Without Consent and Sovereignty

The ongoing war in Ukraine has devastated millions of lives and upended the European order. As President Zelensky meets with European and U.S. leaders in Washington, the world faces a crucial test: Will peace be built on justice and self-determination, or will it reward aggression and set a dangerous precedent?

Recent proposals—such as pressuring Ukraine to cede the Donbas or offering vague 'security guarantees'—ignore the lessons of history. Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons in 1994 in exchange for protection, only to be invaded and occupied. Today, any deal that excludes Ukraine’s full consent or compromises its territorial integrity is unacceptable.

We stand with the people of Ukraine, who demand peace with dignity—not more empty promises or coerced concessions. We call on all leaders at the Washington summit to:

• Reject any negotiations or peace deals made without Ukraine’s explicit consent.
• Refuse to legitimize territorial changes imposed by force.
• Provide concrete, enforceable security guarantees—modeled on NATO’s Article 5—to protect Ukraine’s land, air, and sea.
• Ensure that humanitarian needs and the voices of displaced and affected Ukrainians are central to all negotiations.
• Reject any proposal for peace talks before a ceasefire is in place.

The world is watching. Let us not repeat the mistakes of the past. Stand for justice, sovereignty, and a peace worthy of those who have suffered most.
