Target: U.S. Department of State, Secretary of State, and relevant Congressional offices
Goal: Urge the State Department to resume and expand medical humanitarian visas for children from Gaza and ensure that lifesaving care is not denied due to political pressure.
Children in Gaza face a humanitarian crisis, with over 14,800 patients in need of lifesaving medical care that is not available in their home territory, as reported by the World Health Organization. Many of these children have been brought to the United States for medical treatment through temporary humanitarian visas, coordinated by reputable organizations such as HEAL Palestine.
The recent suspension of these visas, prompted by public pressure and unsubstantiated accusations, puts innocent lives at risk and undermines the principles of humanitarian aid. The organizations facilitating these medical evacuations are American nonprofits dedicated to saving lives, not posing security threats. Each case is subject to thorough vetting and security clearance processes.
We urge the U.S. government to reverse this decision immediately, restore the medical visa program, and reaffirm its commitment to humanitarian values. Denying children access to critical medical care is unconscionable and sets a dangerous precedent. The United States must lead by example and prioritize compassion and evidence-based policy over fear-mongering and political posturing.
