The recent summit in Washington, attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and key European leaders, comes at a critical moment. Reports indicate pressure on Ukraine to accept a rapid peace deal, potentially at the expense of its own territorial integrity and security. US and Russian officials have floated proposals that would require Ukraine to cede the Donbas region, while offering vague 'Article 5-like' protections in place of full NATO membership.
