Target: President Donald Trump, U.S. Congress, and European Union leaders

Goal: Urge the U.S. government and international leaders to impose stronger sanctions on Russian oil exports and prioritize a just peace for Ukraine.

The recent meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin failed to deliver meaningful progress toward ending the war in Ukraine. Instead of increasing pressure on Russia to withdraw and cease its aggression, the U.S. has chosen not to implement further measures to disrupt Moscow’s oil exports, allowing Russia to continue funding its war.

The ongoing war in Ukraine remains the deadliest conflict in Europe in 80 years, with devastating consequences for millions of people. The recent summit between President Trump and President Putin has not resulted in increased pressure on Russia to end its invasion. Instead, the U.S. has paused further action against Russian oil exports, a major source of funding for Moscow’s military aggression.

While a quick peace deal is being discussed, any agreement that legitimizes territorial conquest or undermines Ukraine’s sovereignty is unacceptable. The international community must stand with the people of Ukraine and ensure that peace does not come at the expense of justice or human rights.

We call on President Trump, Congress, and European leaders to take immediate and decisive action to cut off Russian oil profits and support a fair and lasting peace for Ukraine.
