Target: President Donald Trump, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and all negotiating parties involved in Ukraine security talks
Goal: We call on the US, EU, and all negotiating parties to ensure that any security guarantees for Ukraine are robust, transparent, and enforceable, and that they uphold the sovereignty and self-determination of Ukraine and all European nations.
The ongoing war in Ukraine has caused immense suffering, displacement, and loss of life. While the recent summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin has resulted in a tentative agreement for NATO-like security guarantees for Ukraine, the details remain vague and untested. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders have welcomed the willingness to provide such guarantees, but have rightfully pointed out the lack of clarity on how these protections will work in practice.
Article 5 of the NATO treaty is a cornerstone of European security, stating that an armed attack against one member is considered an attack against all. Anything less than full, enforceable protection risks leaving Ukraine and other vulnerable nations exposed to future aggression. Furthermore, any agreement must be transparent, include meaningful accountability measures, and respect the right of all European countries to determine their own security alliances and future.
We urge all parties to negotiate in good faith and to center the voices and needs of Ukrainians and other affected communities. Peace and security in Europe must not be traded for vague promises or unenforceable deals. The world is watching—now is the time to deliver real, lasting security and justice.
