Target: U.S. Congress and the Biden Administration

Goal: We call on Congress and the Biden Administration to defend democratic norms, counter foreign interference, and uphold the truth about the 2020 election and the war in Ukraine.

Recent events have highlighted a troubling alliance of misinformation and authoritarian rhetoric at the highest levels of international diplomacy. In Anchorage, Alaska, former President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin publicly united in their disdain for President Joe Biden, spreading falsehoods about U.S. elections and shifting blame for the war in Ukraine. This dangerous convergence undermines democracy, emboldens autocracy, and distracts from the urgent need for peace and accountability.

At a recent summit in Anchorage, former President Trump and Russian President Putin stood together to cast blame on President Biden for the ongoing war in Ukraine, ignoring Russia's direct responsibility for the invasion and civilian casualties. Putin and Trump further fueled conspiracy theories about the 2020 U.S. election, promoting baseless claims of fraud and undermining public faith in our democratic process.

This public display of authoritarian solidarity not only distorts the truth about the war in Ukraine and U.S. elections, but also threatens to normalize foreign influence and misinformation in American politics. We cannot allow our leaders to legitimize autocratic narratives or excuse war crimes for personal or political gain.

We demand that our elected officials take immediate action to defend democracy, support the Ukrainian people, and ensure that facts, not propaganda, shape U.S. policy and public discourse.

Key Demands

Publicly reaffirm the legitimacy and integrity of the 2020 U.S. presidential election and reject all baseless claims of fraud.
Condemn any attempts by former or current U.S. officials to legitimize foreign authoritarian leaders or excuse their actions, especially regarding Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Increase support for independent investigations into foreign interference in U.S. elections and hold those responsible accountable.
Provide continued humanitarian and diplomatic support to Ukraine and advocate for an immediate ceasefire and withdrawal of Russian forces.
Strengthen protections against misinformation and disinformation in U.S. political discourse, including from public officials.
