Target: U.S. Congress, Department of Defense, and relevant federal agencies

Goal: We call on Congress and the Department of Defense to guarantee that any shipbuilding partnerships with foreign companies prioritize American workers, uphold labor and environmental standards, and ensure public oversight.

The U.S. government is seeking to expand shipbuilding cooperation with Japan and South Korea, including potential foreign investment and joint ventures in American shipyards. While international collaboration can offer benefits, it is crucial to ensure that American workers, communities, and the environment are protected, and that public funds are used transparently and equitably.
