Target: Texas Legislature, Governor Greg Abbott, Texas Congressional Delegation
Goal: We call on the Texas Legislature and Governor Greg Abbott to halt partisan redistricting, enact independent redistricting reform, and protect workers and communities impacted by rapid tech expansion.
Texas is experiencing unprecedented economic and political change. The state’s booming tech sector and population growth have made it a focal point for both national innovation and partisan maneuvering. Recent efforts to redraw congressional districts threaten to undermine fair representation, giving undue advantage to one political party and silencing the voices of millions of Texans.
At the same time, the influx of tech companies and automation projects, such as driverless taxis and massive data centers, is transforming the workforce and neighborhoods. While these developments bring jobs and investment, they also risk increasing inequality, displacing workers, and straining local communities.
We must not allow democracy to be subverted by gerrymandering, nor allow economic growth to come at the expense of working people and marginalized communities. We demand a fair, transparent, and independent redistricting process, robust worker protections, and meaningful community input in tech development projects.
Join us in calling for a Texas that leads the nation in democracy, equity, and justice—not just economic output.
