Support Ukraine’s Sovereignty: No Territorial Concessions to Russia

The war in Ukraine has devastated cities, displaced millions, and cost hundreds of thousands of lives. Now, as President Zelensky meets with world leaders in Washington, the future of Ukraine’s territorial integrity is at stake.

President Putin has proposed a so-called peace deal that would require Ukraine to surrender its remaining territory in Donbas, including fortified cities and strategic heights, and formally recognize Russian sovereignty over Crimea. Such a deal would not only violate Ukraine’s constitution, which prohibits the president from ceding territory without a national referendum, but would also set a dangerous precedent for international law and the right of nations to self-determination.

Donbas is not just symbolic—it is strategically and economically vital to Ukraine. Its loss would cripple Ukraine’s steel industry and leave the country vulnerable to further aggression. The people of Ukraine have made clear their determination to defend their land, and the international community must stand with them.

We call on world leaders to reject any settlement that legitimizes Russian aggression or demands territorial concessions from Ukraine. Instead, they must support Ukraine’s sovereignty, provide robust security guarantees, and ensure that any peace process is grounded in international law and the will of the Ukrainian people.
