Target: President Donald Trump, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, European and NATO leaders, and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio
Goal: Ensure that U.S. and European leaders provide Ukraine with meaningful, enforceable security guarantees, robust support for Ukrainian sovereignty, and transparent, democratic oversight in all negotiations and agreements.
As European and NATO leaders join President Zelenskyy in Washington to present a united front in talks with President Trump on ending Russia's war in Ukraine, we urge all parties to prioritize the rights, safety, and self-determination of the Ukrainian people.
The recent exclusion of President Zelenskyy from direct talks between Trump and Putin, and the shifting narrative away from a ceasefire and toward concessions to Russian demands, raise grave concerns about the transparency and equity of these negotiations. The Ukrainian people have already endured immense suffering and have made clear their desire for a democratic, sovereign future free from foreign domination.
While European leaders have pledged to support Ukraine with training, equipment, and financial assistance, and the idea of Article 5-like security guarantees is on the table, these commitments must be made concrete, enforceable, and subject to public scrutiny. Any peace deal that undermines Ukraine's sovereignty, restricts its alliances, or is imposed without the consent of its people is unacceptable.
We call on all leaders involved to:
The world is watching. We demand a peace process that prioritizes justice, democracy, and lasting security for Ukraine and all of Europe.
