Target: President Joe Biden, U.S. Congress, European Union Leaders, and the United Nations
Goal: Ensure that any peace negotiations regarding Ukraine are transparent, uphold Ukraine’s territorial integrity, and center Ukrainian voices and democratic processes.
As the world watches the unfolding negotiations between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine, we are deeply concerned by reports that proposals include forcing Ukraine to cede territory and accept security guarantees outside of NATO. Such decisions, made without full transparency and the direct involvement of the Ukrainian people, risk legitimizing aggression and undermining international law.
Peace is urgently needed, but not at the cost of justice, democracy, and the right to self-determination. We call on all parties to reject any backroom deals that compromise Ukraine’s sovereignty or ignore the voices of those most affected by this war. Instead, negotiations must be open, inclusive, and based on principles of international law and respect for human rights.
We urge U.S. and European leaders to stand firm against any settlement that rewards aggression or bypasses democratic processes. The future of Ukraine must be decided by Ukrainians, not dictated by foreign powers or secret agreements.
