Target: U.S. Congress and the White House Office of Management and Budget
Goal: Hold President Trump accountable for excessive taxpayer-funded golf trips and ensure presidential focus on critical national and international issues.
As citizens, we expect our president to prioritize the needs of the nation, especially during times of international crisis. Instead, President Trump has repeatedly chosen to spend weekends at his private golf resorts, costing taxpayers an average of $4.2 million each weekend. This comes at a time when critical negotiations, such as those with Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the Ukraine war, have failed to deliver meaningful results.
While supporters may praise his stamina, the reality is that over 50 days of golfing during his term have come at the expense of both taxpayer dollars and unfulfilled campaign promises. Presidential retreats should not be a substitute for leadership, especially when so many pressing issues remain unresolved.
We call on Congress and the Office of Management and Budget to investigate and limit the use of public funds for presidential leisure, and to demand greater accountability and transparency from the executive branch.
