Goal: We call on the United States government to reaffirm its commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty, hold Russia accountable for its actions, and restore principled leadership in global conflicts.
The Alaska summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin has resulted in significant setbacks for Ukraine and global stability. Rather than advancing peace, the meeting sent a dangerous signal to aggressors worldwide, suggesting that territorial ambitions and violations of sovereignty may be tolerated or even rewarded. This undermines the international order and the rights of nations to self-determination.
The United States must not abdicate its responsibility as a defender of democracy and human rights. We urge our leaders to take immediate and concrete steps to support Ukraine, stand up to aggression, and restore faith in the US as a principled actor on the world stage.
