Demand a Just Peace for Ukraine: No Concessions of Sovereignty or Territory

As the United States and its allies engage in high-stakes negotiations to end Russia’s war in Ukraine, we are alarmed by statements suggesting that 'both sides are going to have to make concessions.' Any agreement that legitimizes Russia’s illegal invasion or forces Ukraine to surrender territory would set a dangerous precedent for international law and human rights.

We call on U.S. leaders to stand firm in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and to ensure that peace talks do not come at the expense of justice, accountability, and the Ukrainian people’s right to self-determination. Lasting peace can only be achieved through the withdrawal of Russian forces, the restoration of Ukraine’s borders, and robust security guarantees—not by rewarding aggression.

We urge you to:

• Reject any deal that requires Ukraine to cede territory or sovereignty.
• Maintain and strengthen economic sanctions and diplomatic isolation against Russia until it fully withdraws from Ukrainian territory.
• Ensure that any peace agreement includes provisions for accountability and justice for war crimes and violations of international law.
• Support Ukraine’s right to seek security guarantees and reconstruction aid without coercion or compromise.
