Target: President of the United States, US Congress, European Union leaders, and all international mediators in the Ukraine conflict
Goal: Ensure that Ukraine is fully represented in all international negotiations concerning its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, and that no agreements are made about Ukraine without its direct participation and consent.
We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about recent diplomatic meetings between the United States and Russia that excluded direct Ukrainian participation. History has shown that decisions made over the heads of smaller nations only lead to unstable and unjust outcomes. The Ukrainian people, who have bravely resisted aggression and defended their democracy, must not be sidelined in negotiations that determine their future.
We reject any notion of a 'new Yalta' that divides Europe or legitimizes territorial conquest. Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are non-negotiable, as enshrined in its Constitution and international law. The recent meeting in Alaska, while averting immediate disaster, allowed Russia to score a propaganda victory and project its aggression as legitimate diplomacy. This cannot stand.
We call on all parties involved to uphold the principle of 'nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.' Any peace process must be based on Ukraine’s full participation, respect for its internationally recognized borders, and the democratic will of its people. The international community must not reward aggression or allow backroom deals that compromise justice and security in Europe.
