Demand Transparent, Inclusive, and Just Peace Negotiations for Ukraine

The upcoming White House meeting between President Trump, President Zelenskyy, and European leaders marks a critical moment for Ukraine and the future of peace in Europe. While diplomatic engagement is essential, peace negotiations must not be conducted behind closed doors or at the expense of those most affected by the conflict.

We are deeply concerned that recent talks have prioritized high-level political interests over the needs and rights of ordinary Ukrainians. Lasting peace requires the meaningful participation of Ukrainian civil society, respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a commitment to justice and accountability for all war crimes and human rights violations.

We call on all leaders involved to:

• Ensure transparency in all negotiations and keep the public informed of progress and proposals.
• Include representatives of Ukrainian civil society, displaced persons, and marginalized communities in the peace process.
• Uphold international law, including the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
• Guarantee accountability for war crimes and human rights abuses committed during the conflict.
• Reject any agreements that legitimize aggression or undermine the democratic aspirations of the Ukrainian people.

Peace must be built on justice, inclusion, and respect for human rights. We urge you to act accordingly.
