Goal: To urge world leaders and negotiators to reject any peace deal that legitimizes territorial changes without the full, democratic consent of the Ukrainian people and to guarantee robust security protections for Ukraine.
As global leaders gather to discuss a potential peace deal for Ukraine, it is vital that the voices and rights of Ukrainians remain at the forefront. Reports of possible 'land swaps' based on military front lines, rather than internationally recognized borders, set a dangerous precedent and risk undermining Ukraine’s sovereignty and the principle of self-determination.
While diplomatic progress is welcome, any agreement must not come at the expense of justice or the rights of those living in the affected regions. Security guarantees for Ukraine must be robust and meaningful, not vague promises. The international community must not pressure Ukraine into accepting terms that legitimize aggression or force communities to accept changes without their democratic consent.
We call on all negotiators and world leaders to:
Lasting peace can only be achieved through justice and respect for the will of the people. We demand a transparent, inclusive peace process that puts Ukrainian sovereignty and human rights first.
