Ensure a Fair and Democratic Peace Process for Ukraine

The upcoming summit in Washington, D.C., brings together President Zelenskyy, European leaders, and President Trump to discuss the future of Ukraine and the ongoing Russian invasion. Recent events have raised concerns that Ukraine could be pressured into accepting a peace deal that undermines its sovereignty or excludes its voice from critical decisions. The exclusion of President Zelenskyy from Trump's summit with President Putin, and the shifting narrative away from a ceasefire, are troubling signs for the future of peace and democracy in the region.

We, the undersigned, urge all leaders to uphold the principles of international law, democratic self-determination, and respect for Ukraine's territorial integrity. Peace must not come at the expense of justice, democracy, or the will of the Ukrainian people. Negotiations must be transparent, inclusive, and free from coercion. The people of Ukraine have the right to determine their own future, free from external pressure or behind-the-scenes deals.

We demand that European and NATO leaders stand firmly with Ukraine and resist any attempts to impose a settlement that serves the interests of aggressors over those of victims. The world must not reward aggression or legitimize territorial conquest. We call for a peace process that centers the voices of Ukrainians, protects human rights, and ensures lasting security for all of Europe.
