Goal: Ensure all peace negotiations regarding Ukraine are transparent, inclusive, and respect Ukraine’s territorial integrity and right to self-determination.
The recent summit between US and Russian leaders, as reported by Steve Witkoff, resulted in agreements about Ukraine’s security without direct participation from Ukraine’s elected government. This approach undermines Ukraine’s sovereignty and the principles of self-determination and international law.
Negotiations that exclude Ukraine or pressure its government to cede territory set a dangerous precedent, rewarding aggression and violating the UN Charter. The US and its allies must not broker deals over Ukraine’s future without Ukrainian leadership at the center of every discussion. Furthermore, any settlement must be transparent, respect Ukraine’s internationally recognized borders, and avoid legitimizing illegal territorial seizures.
We call on US leaders and global partners to commit to a fair, just, and inclusive peace process that prioritizes the rights and voices of Ukrainians themselves.
