Goal: We urge all parties involved in the Ukraine peace process to ensure transparency, inclusivity, and respect for Ukrainian sovereignty in ongoing negotiations.
The recent summit between Russian and US leaders focused on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, with both sides acknowledging the importance of reaching a peaceful settlement. While diplomatic engagement is a positive step, it is crucial that any negotiations prioritize the rights, safety, and self-determination of the Ukrainian people.
We are concerned that top-level talks, held behind closed doors and without meaningful participation from Ukrainian civil society or international human rights observers, risk sidelining those most affected by the war. True and lasting peace can only be achieved through a transparent process that centers the needs and voices of all stakeholders, especially those directly impacted by the conflict.
We call for an open, inclusive, and accountable peace process that upholds international law, protects human rights, and ensures justice for victims of violence. The world must not turn the page on Ukraine without addressing the root causes of the conflict and guaranteeing a future based on democracy, sovereignty, and peace.
Key Demands
- Ensure all peace negotiations on Ukraine are transparent and include representatives from Ukrainian civil society, human rights organizations, and affected communities.
- Respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in all discussions and agreements.
- Guarantee the protection of human rights and provide justice for victims of violence and displacement.
- Invite international observers and mediators to monitor and facilitate the peace process.
- Commit to a ceasefire and the withdrawal of all foreign military forces from Ukrainian territory.
