Target: U.S. Congress, President Joe Biden, and all 2024 presidential candidates

Goal: We call on U.S. political leaders and international negotiators to ensure that any peace process in Ukraine centers the rights and demands of Ukrainians, rejects deals made under military pressure, and upholds international law.

Recent developments in the Ukraine conflict have raised serious concerns about the direction of peace negotiations. Former President Donald Trump’s proposal for a rushed peace agreement, following discussions with Vladimir Putin, risks sidelining Ukrainian sovereignty and the voices of those most affected by the war.

As the war in Ukraine continues, millions of lives remain at risk. Former President Trump’s recent statement advocating for a swift peace agreement—after private talks with Vladimir Putin—ignores the realities on the ground and the essential need for Ukrainian self-determination. President Zelenskyy has made clear that peace cannot be achieved under the threat of violence or without full transparency regarding Russia’s demands.

We urge U.S. leaders to reject any peace proposals that are negotiated without Ukrainian participation or that legitimize aggression. A just peace must prioritize human rights, the immediate cessation of violence, and the long-term security of Ukraine’s people. The voices of Ukrainians—not foreign powers—must guide the process toward a sustainable and just resolution.
