Target: President of the United States, US Congress, US Department of State, United Nations, European Union leadership
Goal: We call on the US government and international community to reject any peace agreement that legitimizes territorial conquest and to support a just, lasting peace that respects Ukraine's sovereignty and the will of its people.
The ongoing war in Ukraine has resulted in immense human suffering, displacement, and destruction. While the world yearns for peace, any agreement must be rooted in justice and the principles of international law. Reports from recent US-Russia summits suggest that negotiations may pressure Ukraine to surrender parts of its territory in exchange for a 'permanent' peace. This is unacceptable.
History shows that appeasing aggression only invites further violence. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made clear that ceding territory would not bring real peace, but rather embolden future invasions. The international community must stand firm against any agreement that rewards military aggression or ignores the voices of those most affected—the Ukrainian people.
We urge the US government and its allies to:
Peace must be just, not merely expedient. Stand with Ukraine for a future free from war and oppression.
