Support a Just and Lasting Peace for Ukraine—No Forced Concessions or Territorial Losses

The upcoming meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President Donald Trump, with the involvement of key European leaders, comes at a decisive moment for Ukraine and for the principles of international law. Russia's ongoing occupation of Ukrainian territory and President Putin's demands for further concessions threaten not only Ukraine's future but also the security of Europe as a whole.

Recent shifts in diplomatic strategy, including the abandonment of calls for an immediate ceasefire in favor of a 'full peace accord,' risk granting Russia time to consolidate its military gains. Any peace process that legitimizes the occupation of Ukrainian land or pressures Ukraine into territorial concessions would set a dangerous precedent, undermining the sovereignty of all nations and the rules-based international order.

We call on European leaders and the United States to:

• Reject any agreement that requires Ukraine to cede territory to Russia.
• Insist that international borders must not be changed by force.
• Provide meaningful security guarantees to Ukraine, including peacekeeping forces and logistical support.
