Protect Fair Representation: End Partisan Gerrymandering Now

As partisan redistricting efforts escalate, particularly following President Trump's push for GOP-favored maps, our democracy faces a grave threat. In Texas and beyond, politicians are manipulating district lines to entrench their own power, disregarding the will of the people. This undermines the principle of 'one person, one vote' and disproportionately harms marginalized communities.

We applaud the courageous actions of lawmakers and governors who are resisting these efforts and fighting for fair maps. But resistance alone is not enough. We demand lasting, structural reforms that take redistricting power out of partisan hands and place it with independent commissions accountable to the public, not politicians.

Gerrymandering dilutes the voices of millions, especially communities of color and working-class voters. It leads to uncompetitive elections, increased polarization, and policies that do not reflect the needs of the majority. The time to act is now—before more voices are silenced and our democracy is further eroded.
