Target: Leaders of the United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the European Union
Goal: We call on European and US leaders to reject any peace plan that legitimizes territorial conquest and to support Ukraine's right to self-determination.
The latest summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin has sparked serious concerns among Ukrainians and their European allies. Reports indicate that proposals discussed at the summit would allow Russia to consolidate control over occupied Ukrainian territories in exchange for a temporary halt to further military advances. Such a plan, negotiated without Ukraine's full participation and consent, undermines international law and the principle of national sovereignty.
History shows that ceasefires and peace deals imposed from above, especially those rewarding acts of aggression, rarely lead to lasting peace. Instead, they embolden aggressors and set dangerous precedents for future conflicts. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and many European leaders have rightfully criticized any approach that ignores ongoing Russian attacks and the voices of those under occupation.
We urge all parties to center Ukrainian agency in peace negotiations and to reject any agreement that cedes territory or legitimizes annexation by force. The international community must stand firm against attempts to buy time for further military gains or to force Ukraine into an unjust settlement. True peace will only come through respect for Ukraine's sovereignty, accountability for war crimes, and the active participation of those most affected by the conflict.
