Target: President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the US Department of State
Goal: We urge the US government to provide full transparency regarding discussions with Russia on Ukraine and to ensure that any agreements uphold democratic values and the sovereignty of Ukraine.
The recent summit in Alaska between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin ended without a concrete agreement on Ukraine. While President Trump described the meeting as 'productive,' the lack of details and transparency is troubling. The American public and our allies deserve to know what was discussed, especially when the sovereignty of Ukraine and the stability of Eastern Europe are at stake.
Diplomatic negotiations must be conducted with openness and in consultation with allies and stakeholders. We call on President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to release a comprehensive readout of the summit, engage meaningfully with Ukrainian leadership, and commit to upholding democratic values in all international agreements.
