Demand a Just and Lasting Peace for Ukraine Without Territorial Concessions

Target: President of the United States, U.S. Congress, and all relevant U.S. diplomatic officials
Goal: We call on U.S. leaders to reject any peace agreement that forces Ukraine to cede territory, to support an immediate ceasefire, and to provide real security guarantees for Ukraine’s future.
The Trump-Putin summit did not produce a ceasefire in Ukraine, despite calls from Ukraine and European leaders. Instead, the summit outcomes appear to reward Russian aggression and set a dangerous precedent by discussing territorial concessions and freezing the conflict along current frontlines. This approach undermines Ukraine’s sovereignty and international law, and risks normalizing the illegal annexation of Ukrainian land.
Furthermore, there were no concrete security guarantees for Ukraine, and threats of severe consequences against Russia were not followed through. The voices of Ukrainians, who continue to suffer from ongoing attacks and occupation, must not be ignored in international negotiations.
We urge U.S. leaders to stand with Ukraine and uphold the principles of self-determination, territorial integrity, and international law. Peace must not come at the expense of justice or human rights.
Key Demands
- Reject any peace agreement that requires Ukraine to cede territory to Russia, including Crimea and the Donbas region.
- Support an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine to halt further violence and civilian suffering.
- Commit to real and enforceable security guarantees for Ukraine, including the possibility of NATO-style protections, without excluding future NATO membership.
- Maintain and strengthen sanctions against Russia until a just and lasting peace is achieved and all occupied territories are returned.
- Ensure that any negotiations include meaningful participation from Ukrainian civil society and respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty.
