Demand Fair and Equitable US Support for Ukraine in Peace Negotiations

The recent Alaska summit, where President Trump extended a warm welcome to Russian President Vladimir Putin, has alarmed European leaders and supporters of Ukrainian sovereignty. While Putin received every courtesy, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy faces an uncertain reception in Washington. European allies are working to ensure that Ukraine is not pressured into an unjust deal that cedes territory or undermines its independence.

We are deeply concerned that the US may legitimize Russia's aggression by treating Putin as an equal partner in negotiations, while sidelining Ukraine's interests. The abandonment of immediate sanctions and the shift away from demanding a ceasefire only embolden Russia and threaten the rights and safety of the Ukrainian people.

We call on President Trump and US policymakers to:

• Affirm unwavering support for Ukraine's territorial integrity
• Ensure Ukraine is treated as a full and equal partner in any negotiations
• Reject any peace deal that involves ceding Ukrainian land to Russia
• Include European allies in all future talks to guarantee transparency and fairness
• Hold Russia accountable for its actions and maintain pressure until meaningful peace is achieved

Now is the time for the United States to stand on the right side of history and support a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.
