Target: US Trade Representative and President of the United States
Goal: We call on the US administration to end discriminatory trade practices, ensure transparency, and adopt a fair, consistent approach to international trade that does not penalize developing nations or prioritize corporate interests over global equity.
The current US trade policy is marked by inconsistency and double standards. While the administration imposes additional 25% tariffs on Indian goods, it simultaneously increases trade with Russia, importing uranium, palladium, fertilizers, and chemicals. This approach is not only hypocritical but also unjust, as it penalizes developing countries like India while favoring trade with other major powers for strategic or corporate interests.
Such policies harm workers, farmers, and small businesses in partner countries, undermine trust in international cooperation, and perpetuate global inequality. The US must uphold its stated values of fairness and transparency in trade, and ensure that its policies do not disproportionately impact vulnerable communities worldwide.
We urge the administration to review its trade practices, remove unjust tariffs, and engage in equitable trade relationships that prioritize people and the planet over profit and power politics.
