Goal: Demand that state and federal leaders take immediate action to halt partisan gerrymandering and ensure fair, representative congressional districts.
Across the United States, partisan redistricting is being used as a weapon to tilt the balance of power and undermine the will of the voters. Recent efforts, led by Donald Trump and his allies, seek to redraw congressional districts in ways that entrench minority rule and silence the voices of millions. In Texas and other states, legislators are taking bold action to resist these attacks, but they cannot do it alone.
We have seen the consequences of unchecked power grabs: tax cuts for the wealthy, cuts to safety net programs, and the erosion of democratic norms. Now is the time for all people who care about democracy to demand real action. We urge our leaders to stand up for fair maps, ban gerrymandering, and restore the principle of one person, one vote.
