Demand Transparent and Inclusive Peace Negotiations for Ukraine

Target: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and other European leaders
Goal: Ensure that any peace negotiations regarding Ukraine are transparent, uphold Ukraine's sovereignty, and meaningfully include Ukrainian civil society and democratic representatives.
We, the undersigned, call on European leaders to ensure that any peace talks about Ukraine's future are conducted transparently and with the full participation of Ukrainian representatives and civil society. Recent proposals for a summit between Zelensky, Putin, and Trump raise concerns about backroom deals and the exclusion of Ukrainian voices in decisions that will shape their country's future.
While we support all efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace, it is vital that negotiations do not undermine Ukraine's sovereignty or its right to self-determination. Security guarantees and any proposed agreements must be publicly debated and subject to democratic oversight. The people of Ukraine have the right to determine their own alliances and future, free from external coercion or secretive arrangements.
We urge European leaders to uphold these principles and ensure that peace efforts are grounded in justice, transparency, and respect for Ukraine's democratic aspirations.
Key Demands
- Guarantee that all peace negotiations involving Ukraine are transparent and include representatives from Ukrainian civil society and democratic institutions.
- Reject any agreements or security guarantees made without the explicit consent of Ukraine's elected government.
- Maintain sanctions and economic measures against Russia until a full and just peace, respecting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, is achieved.
- Ensure that Ukraine's right to pursue EU or NATO membership is not compromised in any peace talks.
- Commit to public disclosure of all negotiation terms and agreements related to Ukraine's future.
