Target: Leaders of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and the United States Government
Goal: Ensure that any peace negotiations involving Ukraine prioritize Ukrainian self-determination, human rights, and transparent processes, and that no deals are made without a genuine ceasefire and full involvement of Ukrainian civil society.
We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned that recent diplomatic statements suggest a willingness to negotiate peace terms for Ukraine without securing a prior ceasefire or centering Ukrainian voices. True peace cannot be achieved without the full participation of those most impacted by the war, nor can it be built on compromises that undermine Ukraine's sovereignty or the rights of its people.
We urge Nordic-Baltic leaders and the US government to commit to a transparent, inclusive peace process that respects Ukraine's right to self-determination and ensures robust security guarantees. Any negotiations must include representatives from Ukrainian civil society, prioritize human rights, and guarantee that no agreement is reached without a genuine, verifiable ceasefire.
