Demand Transparent and Inclusive Peace Negotiations for Ukraine

Target: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa, US President Donald Trump, and all participating European leaders
Goal: We call on European leaders and the US government to ensure all peace negotiations on Ukraine are transparent, inclusive, and uphold Ukraine’s sovereignty and the voices of its people.
As the war in Ukraine continues to devastate communities, recent talks between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have failed to secure a ceasefire or resolve critical issues. While European leaders, including Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, have emphasized that 'nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine,' the process remains shrouded in secrecy and lacks meaningful participation from Ukrainian civil society and the broader public.
Peace cannot be negotiated behind closed doors. We demand a transparent process that centers the voices of those most affected: Ukrainians themselves. Any agreement must uphold Ukraine’s territorial integrity and human rights, and ensure that all negotiations are accountable to the public and free from backroom deals.
We urge European leaders and the US government to commit to an open, democratic process in all future negotiations regarding Ukraine, and to prioritize the needs and rights of the Ukrainian people above geopolitical interests.
Key Demands
- Guarantee that Ukraine is fully represented and has veto power in all negotiations about its future.
- Make all negotiation proceedings and agreements public and accessible to ensure transparency.
- Include Ukrainian civil society organizations, human rights groups, and affected communities in the peace process.
- Uphold Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty in any agreement.
- Commit to regular public briefings and accountability mechanisms for all leaders involved in negotiations.
