Demand Inclusive, Democratic Peace Talks for Ukraine

We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the ongoing war in Ukraine and the immense suffering it has caused. As President Zelensky and President Trump prepare to meet to discuss pathways to peace, we urge all parties to ensure that the process is not dominated by a few powerful leaders behind closed doors. Lasting peace can only be achieved through a transparent and democratic framework that includes the voices of Ukrainian people, European partners, civil society organizations, and those directly impacted by the conflict.

We recognize the importance of international cooperation and welcome the involvement of European leaders. However, any peace agreement must uphold Ukraine's sovereignty, guarantee human rights, and ensure accountability for war crimes. The Ukrainian people must have a decisive role in shaping their future, and peace must not be negotiated at the expense of justice or self-determination.

We call on President Zelensky, President Trump, and all negotiating parties to commit to an open, inclusive process that centers the needs and rights of all Ukrainians, and to reject any deal that sidelines democratic participation or sacrifices fundamental freedoms.
