Demand a Just Peace for Ukraine: No Reward for Aggression, No Forced Land Swaps

The recent summits between President Trump, President Putin, and President Zelenskyy have raised alarm about the direction of U.S. policy toward the ongoing war in Ukraine. Reports suggest that the U.S. is now advocating for a comprehensive peace agreement that may include a 'land swap'—allowing Russia to keep control over occupied Ukrainian territories—instead of first securing a ceasefire and building trust.

This approach risks legitimizing Russia's illegal invasion, rewarding war crimes and human rights abuses, and setting a dangerous precedent that international borders can be changed by force. It also undermines Ukraine's right to self-determination, including its aspirations for EU and NATO membership, and jeopardizes the security of all European nations.

We call on President Trump and U.S. policymakers to:

• Reject any peace deal that forces Ukraine to cede territory to Russia.
• Insist on an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of Russian forces as preconditions for negotiations.
• Guarantee Ukraine's right to pursue NATO and EU membership without foreign vetoes.
• Maintain and strengthen sanctions on Russia until all occupied territories are returned and a just, lasting peace is achieved.
• Ensure that any agreement includes robust security guarantees for Ukraine to prevent future aggression.

Ukraine's sovereignty and the principles of international law must not be sacrificed for short-term political gains. Stand with the people of Ukraine and demand a just peace that upholds human rights and global security.
