Target: U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the President of the United States
Goal: We demand an immediate halt to aggressive immigration raids and a fundamental overhaul of immigration enforcement practices to ensure the safety, dignity, and rights of all individuals.
Immigration raids conducted by federal agencies have resulted in preventable injuries and deaths, as well as widespread fear and trauma in our communities. In Camarillo, Jaime Alanís Garcia lost his life after falling while fleeing federal agents. In Monrovia, another man was struck and killed on a freeway during a similar pursuit. These are not isolated incidents: community organizations report a pattern of harm, including serious injuries and deaths, as a direct result of aggressive enforcement tactics.
Furthermore, those detained by ICE often face inhumane conditions, lacking access to basic necessities such as clean water, proper hygiene, and timely medical care. At least 10 people have died in ICE custody this year alone, with causes ranging from suicide to untreated medical conditions. The fear generated by these raids extends far beyond those directly targeted, affecting children and families who live in constant anxiety over the safety of their loved ones.
We call on our leaders to end these dangerous practices and to implement humane, just, and community-centered approaches to immigration policy. The safety, dignity, and rights of all people must be protected.
