Target: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President Donald Trump, European Union Leaders
Goal: To urge President Zelenskyy, President Trump, and European leaders to commit to transparent, inclusive, and just negotiations that prioritize Ukrainian sovereignty, human rights, and meaningful security guarantees.
The recent summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin failed to secure a deal to end Russia’s war in Ukraine. Instead, there are worrying signals that negotiations may prioritize expediency over justice and the interests of the Ukrainian people. President Trump’s shift toward seeking an immediate 'peace agreement'—rather than a ceasefire—echoes the Kremlin’s position and risks sidelining both Ukrainian and European voices.
President Zelenskyy was not invited to the initial summit, and European leaders were excluded from critical discussions, raising concerns about transparency and accountability. The people of Ukraine have endured years of violence, displacement, and loss. Any process that determines Ukraine’s future must center Ukrainian sovereignty, uphold international law, and guarantee that borders are not changed by force.
We call on all parties to:
Peace must not come at the expense of justice, democracy, or the self-determination of the Ukrainian people. We urge world leaders to uphold these principles in all negotiations.
