Goal: We call on the U.S. government to adopt a transparent, principled approach to diplomacy that centers the voices of those most affected by war, upholds Ukraine's sovereignty, and holds aggressors accountable.
The recent summit in Alaska, where President Trump welcomed Vladimir Putin with honors and engaged in public displays of camaraderie, stands in stark contrast to the dismissive and disrespectful treatment of Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This double standard undermines America's credibility as a defender of democracy and international law.
While Russia continues its unprovoked war and faces international war crime charges, the U.S. has paused intelligence sharing and weapons shipments to Ukraine, and even considered land swaps that threaten Ukrainian territorial integrity. Meanwhile, sanctions on Russia have been suspended without meaningful progress toward peace or accountability for atrocities.
We urge the U.S. government to prioritize genuine diplomacy that centers Ukrainian voices, rejects legitimizing aggressors, and commits to a lasting and just peace. Anything less risks emboldening authoritarianism and betraying the millions affected by Russia's invasion.
Key Demands
- Reinstate and expand sanctions on Russia until a verifiable and just ceasefire is achieved and all war crimes are investigated.
- Ensure Ukrainian representatives are present and central in all negotiations affecting their country's future.
- Resume and increase humanitarian and defensive aid to Ukraine, including intelligence sharing and weapons shipments.
- Reject any land swaps or peace agreements that compromise Ukraine's territorial integrity without the full consent of the Ukrainian people.
- Commit to transparency in all diplomatic engagements with Russia and Ukraine, including public disclosure of negotiation terms.
- Support international investigations and prosecutions of war crimes committed during the conflict.
