Target: Prime Minister Mark Carney, the Government of Canada, and all international partners involved in Ukraine peace negotiations

Goal: Ensure that all diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine are led by and center the voices and will of the Ukrainian people, with full transparency and accountability from international actors.

Recent high-level meetings between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have taken place without the participation of Ukrainian leadership. As global leaders discuss the future of Ukraine, it is vital that the Ukrainian people are not sidelined in decisions that affect their sovereignty and safety.

The ongoing war in Ukraine has resulted in immense human suffering, displacement, and loss. While international diplomatic efforts are necessary, peace cannot be achieved without the direct involvement and leadership of Ukrainians themselves. Recent summits between the U.S. and Russia have excluded Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, raising serious concerns about the legitimacy and effectiveness of any proposed solutions.

We call on Prime Minister Mark Carney, the Government of Canada, and all international partners to ensure that Ukrainians are at the center of all negotiations and that their right to self-determination is respected. Diplomatic efforts must be transparent, prioritize human rights, and reject any deals made without Ukraine's full participation and consent.
