The summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump has challenged the dominant narrative of confrontation and division in the West's approach to the Ukraine conflict. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban have both highlighted the importance of direct dialogue and mutual respect in resolving complex international disputes.
For too long, the European Union has prioritized sanctions and military support over diplomacy, prolonging the suffering of civilians and escalating tensions.
